Shepherd's cottage pie with cheese
Description
The recipe won't take much time. The filling for the casserole is usually made from lamb or beef. If you don't have either on hand, feel free to use any other meat—pork or even light chicken will work. If you'd like the meat to have a more pronounced texture, you can finely chop it with a knife instead of mincing it in a meat grinder. The main ingredients for the filling are onion and carrot. You can diversify it with green peas, as in this recipe, or add tomatoes or any other vegetables to your taste. In any case, the dish turns out to be satisfying, delicious, and hearty. Shepherd's pie is very easy to prepare, and even a beginner cook will manage it—definitely worth trying. Serve hot.
