Description

Shepherd's pie recipe – a classic of English cuisine. It's hard to imagine a dish more typical of the local countryside cooking than this one. The pie turns out incredibly filling; no wonder it's called "shepherd's." Eat one portion, and you'll stay full all day long. So I highly recommend learning how to make shepherd's pie right now and not being lazy about actually preparing it. Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.

Add the beef broth and mix everything well. Add the peas and carrots and mix again, reduce the heat, and let it simmer for a few minutes. The sauce should thicken, and the vegetables should become tender. If the sauce becomes too thick, you can add a little more broth.

By this time, the potatoes should already be cooked. Drain off most of the water, leaving a little for the mash, add a couple of tablespoons of butter, and mash the potatoes until smooth.

Spread the resulting puree into a baking dish and press it down firmly. On top of the puree, place the fried minced meat with sautéed vegetables.

We sprinkle everything generously with cheese and place it in the oven at 280 degrees. Bake until the cheese melts.
