Quince pastila
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Making kizil (cornel cherry) pastilles is not just easy—it's very easy. True, you'll have to wait until they're completely ready. But you can speed up the cooking process—more details in the step-by-step recipe. Wishing you delicious and healthy treats! Serve chilled.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the cornel and sugar.
- 2
Step 2

Place the washed berries in a saucepan with a thick bottom; you can add 2 tablespoons of water. Set over medium heat and cook until the berries become soft and start releasing their juice.
- 3
Step 3

Pass the softened cornel through a sieve. The residue can be used to make a morse.
- 4
Step 4

Slightly warm the resulting berry puree.
- 5
Step 5

Add sugar to the berry puree and stir until dissolved.
- 6
Step 6

Spread the berry puree onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. It's best to use silicone-coated parchment paper, as the fruit leather will peel off more easily. You can dry the fruit leather in different ways: simply leave it in this form in open air, which will take about 3 days, or use the convection mode in the oven at 55–60°C until fully dried.
- 7
Step 7

Cut the ready-made pastila as desired, easily done with a pizza cutter.
- 8
Step 8

Roll the fruit leather into small rolls; if desired, lightly sprinkle with powdered sugar. The tasty, vitamin-rich treat is ready.
