
Pasta with creamy onion sauce
Description
Are you tired of ordinary pasta? Try making pasta with an aromatic creamy onion sauce. Serve the pasta with a light salad, a slice of crispy bread, and a glass of dry white wine, such as Sauvignon Blanc.

Step 1

1. Finely chop the shallot. In a medium saucepan, bring salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook according to package instructions until done.

2. While the pasta is cooking, sauté the chopped shallot in olive oil over medium heat for 3-4 minutes. Once the shallot becomes soft, add 2 tablespoons of flour and cook for one minute.

3. Pour in the white wine and cook until the flour dissolves, then bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium and add the cream, sliced green onions, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.

4. Add the sauce to the cooked pasta, previously drained of water. Mix well.

5. Add 1 teaspoon of lemon zest, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and mix. Divide the pasta among 4 plates. If desired, top with additional Parmesan cheese and serve immediately.
