Thoroughly rinse the oyster mushrooms under cold running water. Then cut off the stems and slice the caps into small pieces—either cubes or strips, as preferred; it won't affect the taste.

Place a pot of water on the stove for cooking pasta, add salt. Also, heat a frying pan with oil. Peel the onion and garlic. Finely dice the onion, and mince the garlic cloves even finer. Sauté the onion and garlic in heated vegetable oil until the onion becomes translucent—about 5 minutes.

Add the sliced mushrooms to the pan and evaporate the excess liquid, then sauté for another 3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
