1. Place a pot of water for the pasta on the stove. Pour oil into a skillet and add a piece of butter. While the skillet with oil is heating up, peel and finely chop the garlic.

Step 2

2. Rinse the shrimp and let them drain. Then place them in a frying pan. Add the garlic. Cook over medium heat.

Step 3

3. Fry the shrimp with garlic for no more than 5 minutes, then remove from heat. Transfer the shrimp with garlic to a separate plate. Leave the pan with oil, as we'll use it to prepare the sauce.

Step 4

4. By this time, the water should be boiling; lightly salt it and add your favorite pasta. Cook the pasta according to the instructions on the package. I usually taste it—I like my pasta al dente.

Step 5

5. In the skillet where the shrimp were sautéed with garlic, add the tomatoes with their juice, season with salt and pepper, and mix well. Simmer, covered, until the pasta is cooked.

Step 6

6. Then add the cooked pasta to the pan, after draining the water. You can reserve a little of the pasta cooking water and add it to the pan if the dish seems too dry. Add the shrimp as well. Mix everything together once again.
