Instructions

Step 1

1. I buy pre-sliced bacon. So all I need to do is chop it into strips. If you have a large piece, you'll need to slice it thinly.
- 2
Step 2

2. Clean the bell peppers, cut them in half, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 10–15 minutes at 180°C. The skin should char and the peppers should become soft. The skin will then easily peel off the peppers.

Step 3

3. Wash the tomatoes and cut them into quarters. Peel and mince the garlic.
- 4
Step 4

4. Heat the broth. It should be warm.
- 5
Step 5

5. In a small amount of olive oil, fry the chopped bacon. Once the bacon becomes crispy, transfer it to a paper towel.
- 6
Step 6

6. Add a little more olive oil to the pan where the bacon was fried. Sauté the garlic and tomatoes, stirring, for several minutes until soft.
- 7
Step 7

7. Add wine to the tomatoes and garlic.
- 8
Step 8

8. After the wine, add the paste and mix well.
- 9
Step 9

9. Add a little hot broth and stir. When the broth is absorbed, add more broth and stir again. Continue doing this until all the broth has been added to the pasta with the vegetables.
- 10
Step 10

10. Wash and chop the basil. Add to the pasta.
- 11
Step 11

11. Remove the skin from the bell pepper and cut into small cubes or strips.
- 12
Step 12

12. Add bell pepper and bacon to the pasta.
- 13
Step 13

13. Mix all the ingredients and simmer over low heat for a couple more minutes.
- 14
Step 14

14. Serve the pasta with bacon and tomatoes in portions, garnished with a fresh basil leaf. Serve grated Parmesan with the dish.
