Description
Making "Marinara" sauce is very simple and quick. In just 30 minutes, a delicious Italian dinner will be steaming on your table. Step-by-step instructions on how to prepare it are provided in the recipe guidelines.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the necessary ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

First, bring a large amount of water to boil for cooking the spaghetti. Pour 2 tablespoons of olive oil into a frying pan.
- 3
Step 3

Place the frozen mussels in their shells on the frying pan; there's no need to thaw them. Heat until the shells open.
- 4
Step 4

Transfer the mussels to a plate.
- 5
Step 5

Do not discard the broth formed from the mussels; it will be used as a base for the sauce.
- 6
Step 6

Blend the peeled tomatoes in their own juice, or preferably use ready-made "tomato pulp" or "passata."
- 7
Step 7

Pour the tomato passata into the pan and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- 8
Step 8

Add oregano, basil, thyme, and cook for a few more minutes.
- 9
Step 9

Add two tablespoons of olive oil.
- 10
Step 10

Pour in the dry white wine and simmer for about five minutes to allow the alcohol vapors to evaporate.
- 11
Step 11

Grind the seeded hot pepper; use 1/3 to 1 whole pepper, depending on taste. Add the pepper to the sauce, season with salt, and add a teaspoon of sugar to balance the flavor.
- 12
Step 12

By this time, the water in the pot should be boiling; add salt and cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until done. Drain the cooked spaghetti, but do not rinse it.
- 13
Step 13

Transfer the mussels into the prepared marinara sauce, cover with a lid, and heat thoroughly for about 5 minutes, no more, to prevent the mussels from becoming rubbery.
- 14
Step 14

Serve the "Marinara" pasta with mussels, sprinkled with grated Parmesan. It's very delicious—I highly recommend it!
