Basil paste
Description
Minimal ingredients — excellent result. If you love green basil as much as I do, you must try this sauce. It's indispensable in summer as a dressing for salads, pasta, cornmeal porridge, boiled or baked potatoes, and can also be served with meat, fish, etc. The finished sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for several days.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the necessary ingredients for the sauce.
- 2
Step 2

Rinse the fresh basil, dry it, and roughly chop. Peel the garlic and slice it into pieces. Toast the walnuts in a dry skillet for a couple of minutes to enhance their aroma and flavor.
- 3
Step 3

Place the prepared basil, nuts, and garlic into the blender bowl. Grind until you get a uniform crumb, season with salt to taste, add olive oil and water, then blend again until the sauce becomes smooth.
- 4
Step 4

Pour the prepared sauce into a suitable container. The consistency should be thin (like Pesto sauce).
- 5
Step 5

Add finely grated Parmesan cheese, mix well. Transfer the sauce to a suitable jar and store in the refrigerator for 5-7 days.

Step 6

Serve with any dishes.
