Chicken liver pâté
Description
Suitable for both holidays and everyday meals. Here is a fairly simple method. Serve with greens and sauce.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

1. Add a little vegetable oil to a frying pan and heat it. Peel and chop the onion, add it to the pan, and sauté until translucent.
- 2
Step 2

2. Peel and grate the carrot. It will give the pâté not only color but also a light hint of sweetness.
- 3
Step 3

3. Fry the vegetables for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Then add the washed and dried liver.
- 4
Step 4

4. Season with salt and pepper to taste, add a little nutmeg. Fry over medium heat, stirring. Then remove the pan from the heat and let its contents cool.
- 5
Step 5

5. To make the pâté, you can use a meat grinder or a blender, for example (the final consistency also depends on which one you use). Grind the liver with the vegetables and add butter.
- 6
Step 6

6. If only adults will be eating the pâté, I recommend adding a little cognac to it.
- 7
Step 7

7. That’s it—all that’s left is to mix thoroughly one more time and, if you like, add a little more salt or pepper. Place the pâté in the refrigerator for a couple of hours so it can rest.
