
Mussel Pâté
Description
This appetizer is quick and easy to prepare. A tasty mussel pâté can be made in just minutes from mussels marinated in oil or from plain boiled seafood. Add a hard-boiled chicken egg and any aromatic herbs to taste. For a moist dish, use sour cream of any fat content, mayonnaise, or thick classic yogurt. Serve with herbs and sauce.

Prepare the listed ingredients. If the mussels are raw, boil them in advance for 5–6 minutes. If you bought pre-cooked frozen seafood, simply pour boiling water over it and let it sit for 3–5 minutes to warm through.

Place the mussels in the bowl of a food processor or blender, or in a deep container if you plan to purée everything with an immersion blender.

Peel the hard-boiled chicken egg, rinse it in water, and cut it into small cubes. Place it in the container with the mussels.

Spread in sour cream of any fat content, or replace it with thick Greek yogurt. Salt and pepper the entire mixture. Add lemon juice.

Pulse all ingredients for approximately 3–4 minutes on the appliance’s pulse setting.

Spoon the mussel pâté into a bowl or ramekin and serve with bread, crackers, crostini, or toast.
