Instructions

Step 1

In a bowl with high sides, mix cottage cheese, 75 milliliters of milk, refined vegetable oil, add sugar and vanillin, and crack in a raw chicken egg. Mix all ingredients until smooth.
- 2
Step 2

Rinse the raisins and place them in a bowl. Pour boiling water over them. Let stand for half an hour so the raisins can plump up. Add the raisins to the other ingredients.
- 3
Step 3

Sift the flour through a sieve several times. Mix it with the baking powder. Gradually add the flour with baking powder to the remaining ingredients in parts, kneading until a sticky dough forms.
- 4
Step 4

Place the dough on a work surface. Make it fairly firm but not stiff by kneading and gradually adding flour to the dough.
- 5
Step 5

Place the dough into a babka mold. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Bake for about 40 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick.
- 6
Step 6

While the kulich is baking, prepare the glaze. To do this, mix the powdered sugar with a tablespoon of milk in a small bowl. Once the kulich has cooled, spread the glaze over it, let it set, and then serve.
