Instructions
- 1
Step 1

1. If you didn't take the butter out in advance and it's not soft, you can melt it. Softened butter can simply be mashed with a fork.
- 2
Step 2

2. Add cottage cheese (preferably dry and not very fatty, ideal for a paskha recipe with a plombir flavor) and sour cream to the butter. Add a pinch of vanilla, and if desired, a little sugar as well.
- 3
Step 3

3. Lumps are simply unacceptable here, so you need to use a blender to turn everything into a smooth mixture.
- 4
Step 4

4. Prepare the add-ins: raisins, dried apricots, candied fruits, nuts, dried berries.
- 5
Step 5

5. Add everything to the cottage cheese along with condensed milk (not dulce de leche!). Gently mix once again.
- 6
Step 6

6. Line a special mold (if you don't have one, you can use a small colander for homemade plombir-flavored paska) with clean gauze.
- 7
Step 7

7. Place the prepared mixture on it.
- 8
Step 8

8. Tightly fold the edges of the cheesecloth to completely cover the top. Place a small jar filled with water on top as a weight, and put the mold in the refrigerator.
- 9
Step 9

9. The paska should be pressed for 15 to 20 hours to let all excess liquid drain out. Then carefully remove the cheesecloth, take the dessert out of the mold, and decorate it if desired. This is a wonderful way to make paska with a rich, ice cream-like flavor, isn't it? Have a delicious holiday!
