Chicken Paprikash
Description
The recipe for chicken paprikash is quite simple, yet the taste is indescribable. An incredibly rich and aromatic sauce with tender, melt-in-your-mouth pieces of meat makes this a perfect choice for a hearty lunch or dinner.
Instructions

Step 1

1. First, you need to peel and chop the onion. It should not be finely minced, so that it doesn't completely dissolve during cooking.
- 2
Step 2

2. Pour a little oil (fat) into the bottom of a saucepan or pot with a thick bottom. Add the onion and sauté until soft and lightly golden.

Step 3

3. Paprika is an essential part of this dish and you'll need quite a lot of it. Add the paprika to the onions and stir constantly until it fully absorbs the oil. To ensure the chicken paprikash made at home is smooth and lump-free, do not leave the stove during this step.

Step 4

4. For this dish, you can use either a whole chicken cut into portion-sized pieces or boneless fillet (in the first case, remove the skin and trim off all the fat). Place it in a frying pan.

Step 5

5. Season with salt to taste and let it sit for a few minutes. Meanwhile, wash and clean the pepper, then chop it together with the tomato into small cubes.
- 6
Step 6

6. Add peppers and tomatoes to the skillet. Add a little water. How to make chicken paprikash more flavorful? Instead of water, use previously prepared broth.

Step 7

8. When the water comes to a boil, reduce the heat to the minimum and simmer, covered, for about 55–65 minutes (depending on the size of the pieces). Ten minutes before the end of cooking, mix the sour cream with the flour and stir thoroughly. Season with salt to taste if desired.

Step 8

9. Add the sour cream, mix everything well, and simmer for another 5-7 minutes. Then remove the chicken paprikash from the heat and serve.
