
Pampushki with poppy seeds

Prepare the necessary ingredients.

Pour milk into a bowl, add butter and heat until it melts. Cool to a temperature of 36‑38 °C.

Add 2 tbsp sugar, salt, eggs. Stir.

Add the yeast. Stir.

Add the flour in portions, mixing well each time. As soon as the dough starts to come together into a ball, begin kneading by hand.

Knead a soft and pliable dough. It should not stick to your hands. Shape it into a ball. Place it in a bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rest at room temperature for 40 minutes.

After the allotted time, the dough will have noticeably risen and be ready for shaping.

Divide the dough into pieces slightly larger than a walnut.

In a separate bowl, mix the poppy seeds with 100 g of sugar.

Prepare a baking sheet. Line it with parchment paper. For each dough piece, first dip it in vegetable oil, then in a mixture of poppy seeds and sugar.

Place the prepared pampushky in the middle of the baking sheet, close together. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for 20–25 minutes.

Remove the ready poppy seed buns from the oven, let them cool slightly, and transfer them to a dish.
