1. To prepare the dough, melt the margarine. Be sure to sift the flour. Neutralize the baking soda with vinegar. Mix all these ingredients in a bowl and add sour cream. Knead the dough. Be careful with the flour—do not add all of it at once. The dough should turn out rich and tender. Add flour as needed. Place the finished dough into a plastic bag and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

2. For the filling, fry the nuts in a skillet. In this recipe, the nuts are not ground. If you prefer smaller pieces, you can chop or crush them. Sort the raisins and soak them in warm water for about 15 minutes, then drain the water. Mix the nuts, raisins, sugar, and one egg. If you like vanilla, you can add a little here.

3. Remove the dough from the refrigerator and divide it into 2 parts. Roll out one part of the dough thinly. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the rolled dough onto the baking sheet. Spread the filling on top.

4. Roll out the second part of the dough and wrap it around the rolling pin. Transfer it to the baking sheet and cover the filling. Pinch the edges of the pie and prick several times with a fork. Bake the baklava for about 20 minutes at 200 degrees. Remove from the oven and, while still hot, cut it into diamond shapes.
