Thus, you can easily treat yourself and your loved ones to a little celebration by following my simple puff pastry baklava recipe.
Instructions

Step 1

Since we already have ready-made dough, we start by preparing the filling. First of all, we need to chop the nuts using a blender (don't forget to set aside a couple of pieces for decoration). Next, we beat the egg whites with sugar until thick foam forms, then gently mix them with the chopped nuts.

Step 2

Next, we line the baking dish with a sheet of puff pastry, making sure there are edges on all sides. Now, this layer needs to be brushed with previously melted butter.
- 3
Step 3

Then we place a layer of the nut-protein-sugar mixture, spreading it evenly around the entire perimeter.
- 4
Step 4

Cover everything with another sheet of puff pastry.
- 5
Step 5

Now grease the plate with oil again and spread the mixture of nuts and egg whites.

Step 6

Next comes the final layer of dough; cover the pan with it and tuck the edges of the top layer over the bottom layer. Now brush the top layer with egg yolk and cut the baklava into diamond shapes. Place a walnut on top of each diamond. Place the pan in a preheated oven at 180°C and bake for 15–20 minutes.

Step 7

After the time has elapsed, remove the baklava from the oven and brush it with the remaining butter. Place it back in the oven for another 10 minutes.

Step 8

While our baklava is baking, we mix honey with water. When the 10 minutes are up, we take the baklava out and soak it with the prepared honey mixture, then put it back in the oven for another 10 minutes. Now it's done—our baklava is ready, and we can taste it. Enjoy your meal, everyone!
