Seafood paella

Description

The recipe won't take much time. When I lived in Cyprus, Spanish seafood paella was almost my favorite dish. Made with the freshest seafood, it turns out absolutely delicious. However, after returning to Moscow, I tried making it with frozen seafood bought at the supermarket—it was slightly less impressive but still very good. So go ahead, grab this recipe, some seafood—and head to the kitchen! :) Serve hot.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

If you don't live near the coast and are using frozen seafood, the first thing you need to do is thaw it. Thaw at room temperature and, of course, drain off any liquid released.

  2. 2

    Step 2

Saffron is poured with boiled water. Let it steep for approximately 15-20 minutes.

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Step 3

Take a wide skillet, heat olive oil in it. Add the seafood to the hot oil, sauté over high heat for about 2-3 minutes, then set aside.

  4. 4

    Step 4

    Step 4

In the same skillet, sauté finely chopped onion until translucent.

  5. 5

    Step 5

    Step 5

When the onion becomes translucent, add the rice to the pan. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, stirring regularly.

  6. 6

    Step 6

    Step 6

Pour the saffron water and plain boiled water into the pan so that the water barely covers the rice.

  7. 7

    Step 7

    Step 7

Cook the rice for about 15 minutes, then pour in the tomato puree. Mix well.

  8. 8

    Step 8

    Step 8

After a couple of minutes, add the peas and diced pepper.

  9. 9

    Step 9

    Step 9

When the liquid has almost completely evaporated from the pan, add our seafood and several lemon slices to the pan. Warm the seafood through, then remove from heat.

    Step 10

Eat while it's still hot. It's best served right in this frying pan.
