
Oatmeal cookies with nuts and chocolate
Description
This recipe yields 3 dozen oat cookies. Orange zest adds a pleasant tangy note, while cloves, cinnamon, and nutmeg provide a spicy aroma.

1. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Using an electric mixer, beat butter in a bowl until creamy. Add brown sugar, white sugar, salt, and vanilla extract, and mix with the mixer for about three minutes. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Sift together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves into a separate bowl. Add half of the flour mixture to the butter mixture and mix with the mixer at low speed. Then, add the second half of the flour. Stir in oats, chopped pecans, orange zest, and chocolate chips.
