
Vegetable pilaf
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. Vegetable pilaf is an excellent dish for fasting. It can be served as a main dish or as a side dish. Preparation: Sort and rinse the rice. Place the rice in a heavy-bottomed pot. Add salt and set over heat. Heat until the rice dries out and the liquid evaporates, stirring constantly. The rice should increase in volume. Add 3.5 cups of boiling water to the pot, cover with a lid, and simmer over low heat without stirring until cooked. Finely chop the onion, shred the carrots, and slice the tomatoes and bell pepper. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet. Add the chopped vegetables and sauté until soft. Add the cooked rice, mix well, cover with a lid, and simmer for about 5 minutes. Sprinkle the finished pilaf with chopped fresh herbs and add some minced garlic. Let it stand for a short while, then serve. The dish is ready to be served.
