Description

The recipe won't take much time. You can serve the vegetables in tomato sauce with any side dish—pasta, cereals, or legumes. The tomato sauce is especially delicious with roasted meat, fish, or sausage—each time, the dish will take on new flavor notes when paired with a different ingredient. Serve hot.

Instructions

    Step 1

    Step 1

    Prepare the listed ingredients.

    Step 2

    Step 2

Peel the potatoes and onions and rinse them in water. If using carrots or other vegetables that require peeling, peel and rinse them as well. Cut the potato tubers into medium-sized cubes, and cut the rinsed corn cobs into 3-4 pieces. Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan and heat it up. Add the chopped vegetables and sauté for 10-12 minutes until partially cooked.

    Step 3

    Step 3

Slice the peeled onion into half-rings and add to the container. Fry for another 2-3 minutes.

    Step 4

    Step 4

Mix tomato paste with sugar and salt in water to create a sauce.

  5. 5

    Step 5

    Step 5

Pour the tomato sauce into the pan and simmer the vegetables in it for about 10-15 minutes, until cooked. Do not add the tomato sauce right away, as it increases the cooking time, and the vegetables would need to simmer in it for at least 50-60 minutes without prior sautéing!

After the specified time, turn off the heat, garnish the dish with fresh herbs, and serve it directly in the frying pan.
