Soy cutlets in batter
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Boil the soy meat first, then fry it in previously prepared batter. Soy cutlets in batter go well with mashed potatoes or buckwheat with carrots. Serve hot.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

To make soy meat tasty, you need to boil it in water with spices. In plain water, it may lose all its flavor. Therefore, mix water, soy sauce, and spices in a saucepan. Place the resulting broth over heat.
- 2
Step 2

Place the soy meat in a saucepan with the broth and bring to a boil. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until cooked.
- 3
Step 3

Drain the cooked meat on a colander and let it drain. While it is draining and cooling, proceed with preparing the batter.
- 4
Step 4

Mix water and vinegar, then add spices, salt, sugar, and flour. Stir well using a whisk. The batter should be slightly thicker than pancake batter. Just before frying, add baking soda.
- 5
Step 5

Squeeze each piece of soy meat gently by hand to remove excess liquid. Place a pan with vegetable oil over medium heat.
- 6
Step 6

Dip the soy meat into the batter and place it in the pan. Fry on both sides until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes per side. Place the cooked cutlets onto a plate.
