Octopus in Wine
Description
The appetizer is quick and easy to make. Let's make wine-braised octopus at home. This method is called the "lazy" method, because the octopus meat cooks slowly in its own juices with wine added. Onion, garlic, and a bay leaf are added for aroma. A little pepper won't hurt either. Happy cooking. The appetizer is ready. Serve immediately.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Rinse and pat dry the octopus. Season with pepper to taste. Do not add salt—the meat is already salty.
- 2
Step 2

Line a baking sheet with several layers of foil. Place the octopus on top.
- 3
Step 3

Add to the octopus an onion bulb cut into 4 pieces, garlic cloves, and a bay leaf. Pour in the wine.
- 4
Step 4

Now wrap the octopus very tightly in foil. The main thing is that it doesn’t leak, because the meat should cook in its own juices.
- 5
Step 5

Bake the octopus in the oven for 30 minutes at 200°C. Then reduce the temperature to 180°C and leave for another hour. Check doneness with a toothpick—it should pierce the octopus very easily.

Step 6

Serve the cooled octopus at the table with lemon or lime.
