Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the specified ingredients. Thaw the shrimp in advance and boil for about 3 minutes.
- 2
Step 2

Rinse the rice in water and boil it in hot water for about 12–15 minutes. Then turn off the heat and stir the rice. Cover the container with a lid and leave it to cool for 20 minutes.
- 3
Step 3

Peel the boiled shrimp, removing the heads and shells, and devein them. Dice into small cubes and mix with salt and ground black pepper. If desired, you may add mayonnaise or another sauce, but not soy sauce, to make the filling more moist.

Step 4

When the rice has cooled to a temperature that is comfortable to handle with your hands, wet your hands with water and divide the entire mass into three equal portions. Flatten one portion into a patty and place one-third of the prepared filling in the center.

Step 5

Carefully seal the filling inside the onigiri and shape it into a triangle. Cut the nori into strips and wrap the onigiri so they can be picked up by hand and eaten.

Step 6

Place the finished shrimp onigiri on a plate and serve with soy sauce, pickled ginger, and wasabi.
