
Onigiri with Korean Carrots

Prepare all the ingredients.

Rinse the rice until the water runs clear. Cover with clean water, bring to a boil, and stir. Reduce the heat to a minimum and cook for 15 minutes with the lid on. Then cover the pot with a clean towel and the lid on top, and let sit for another 15 minutes. Allow the rice to cool slightly, add rice vinegar, salt, and sugar, and stir.

Cut the Korean-style carrots with a knife so they are not so long. If needed, cut the smoked tofu into small sticks as well.

Wet your hands and the onigiri mold with water. Fill the mold halfway, making an indentation for the filling. Place a little cream cheese in the center.

Then add smoked tofu and Korean-style carrots.

Cover it with rice. Press down with the second half of the mold. Then remove from the mold.

Cut the nori sheet into rectangular strips and wrap the onigiri.
