
Ham Omelet in the Oven
Description
A delicious appetizer for any gathering. This simple baked ham omelet recipe is the perfect way to start a weekend morning. Ham and eggs, with vegetables added to taste, make a full breakfast for the whole family—hearty and very tasty. Serve warm or chilled.

1. First, prepare the vegetable filling. You can skip the vegetables if you like, but with them the classic baked ham omelet will be much more interesting, flavorful, and juicy. Peel the onion and bell pepper and dice them.

2. Pour a little vegetable oil into a skillet and add the vegetables. Sauté briefly until tender.

3. Dice the ham into small cubes.

4. Grate the cheese on a medium or large grater. You can use either hard or soft cheese.

5. Break the eggs into a small bowl and whisk with a pinch of salt. If desired, you can add milk or kefir.

6. Spread the sautéed vegetables mixed with ham and cheese on the bottom of an ovenproof dish. Pour the egg mixture over the top. Pepper the omelet to taste, if desired.

7. Place the baking dish in a preheated oven. A ham omelet baked in the oven at home takes about 20–25 minutes, depending on the amount of ingredients and the temperature.

8. Remove the finished omelet from the oven, let it cool slightly, and cut into serving portions. Before serving, sprinkle with fresh herbs if desired.
