Omelet with semolina
Description
This recipe won't take much time. You can make a semolina omelet at home either sweet or with meat or vegetables added, for example. The first option is better for a children's breakfast, since you can serve that omelet with fruit or jam. The second, more traditional option goes well with toast or sauce. The snack is ready. Serve right away.

Step 1

1. First, beat the eggs in a deep bowl. This semolina omelet recipe calls for milk; however, if you like, you can also add a little sour cream or mayonnaise (for a savory version). The omelet will only benefit from this, as it will be fluffier and more filling.

Step 2

2. Add sugar and a pinch of salt to the egg-and-milk mixture. Stir in semolina. When you use more eggs, increase the semolina only gradually so the omelet does not turn into a thick porridge.

Step 3

3. Mix everything thoroughly and let stand for 3–5 minutes so the semolina swells slightly. For the sweet omelet version, you can also add a pinch of vanilla for aroma or syrup.

Step 4

4. Add a small piece of butter to the pan and melt it thoroughly. For the savory version, you can use vegetable oil.

Step 5

5. Pour the omelet into the skillet and cover with a lid. It is best to cook it over low heat so that the semolina omelet cooks through well at home and does not burn. Alternatively, the dish can also be prepared in the oven or in a multicooker, for example.

Step 6

6. When the top of the omelet has set, you can carefully flip it and fry on the other side. Or roll it into a roll and fry for another couple of minutes so the edges seal well.
