English-style omelette
Description
It doesn't take much time or ingredients to prepare—this dish turns out very filling, and such a breakfast will energize you for the whole day. It's a perfect match for a cup of coffee or buttered toast. Traditionally, bacon and cheddar cheese are used in an omelet, but you can substitute smoked bacon and any hard cheese that melts well. If desired, sprinkle the finished omelet with finely chopped fresh herbs before serving.
Instructions

Step 1

Prepare all the necessary ingredients for making English-style omelette. Wash the eggs and dry them.
- 2
Step 2

Break the eggs into a bowl, add salt.
- 3
Step 3

Beat the eggs with a whisk until smooth and the salt is dissolved.
- 4
Step 4

Pour the milk into the eggs and mix with a whisk.

Step 5

Grease a frying pan with vegetable oil and heat over medium heat. If the bacon is long, cut it into 2-3 pieces and place in the pan. Fry the bacon on both sides to your desired doneness.
- 6
Step 6

Pour the prepared eggs over the bacon, letting them flow underneath the bacon. To do this, slightly lift the pieces of bacon.
- 7
Step 7

Reduce the heat to the lowest setting, cover with a lid, and cook for 5-7 minutes. The omelet should set but not burn.

Step 8

Grate the cheese on a medium grater and sprinkle it over the top of the omelet. Cook for another 2 minutes uncovered, until the cheese is melted. Remove the skillet with the finished English-style omelet from the heat, let it stand for 2 minutes, then serve.
