
Red lentil pancakes

Prepare all ingredients.

Soak the lentils in water beforehand for 4–6 hours, or leave them overnight.

Then drain off the water, rinse the lentils, and tip them into a sieve. Let the excess water drain away.

Transfer the lentils to the blender jar. Pour in the water, add all the spices, baking powder, and salt.

Blend until smooth and homogeneous.

Heat the pan over medium heat. Spoon the batter in portions and shape small pancakes. It’s better to keep them not too thick — about 1–1½ tablespoons of batter per pancake. Fry for a couple of minutes over medium heat until golden brown.

Flip and fry for the same length of time on the other side.
