Deep-Fried Pickles
Description
Deep-fried pickles will be the highlight of your table, as you don't often see such a dish in the kitchen! I recommend using pickled cucumbers specifically, as they are what give the dish its flavor and aroma. You can first dip the cucumbers in breadcrumbs and then in batter, but note that the appearance of the dish will be different. Before cooking, be sure to pat the cucumbers dry with a paper towel so that excess liquid doesn't interfere during frying. Serve the appetizer to the table.

Step 1

Prepare the sauce: mix equal parts mayonnaise and sour cream, add dried herbs to taste (I use dill, parsley, and cilantro). Season with salt and mix well.

Step 2

Prepare the batter: whisk the egg and add sifted flour to it. Then add baking powder, salt, paprika, and dried dill to taste.

Step 3

Pour in the milk and whisk well to get rid of all lumps. Refrigerate the batter for about 15 minutes.

Step 4

Slice the cucumbers into thin lengthwise strips and arrange them on a paper towel to drain excess liquid. Then dip the cucumbers in batter and breadcrumbs.
