New Year's Carrot Appetizer
Description
My husband came up with this New Year’s carrot appetizer. Last year, right around the New Year holidays, I was on a diet. I boiled some carrots and wanted to make a spicy appetizer using only carrots. But my husband took a few carrots and wrapped them in prosciutto ham. It turned out brilliant and very tasty! Let’s make it together. 1. First, boil the carrots. I listed large whole carrots in the ingredients. But I personally prefer to buy small ones in packages. They are very tasty and work perfectly for this appetizer. So if you find carrots like that in stores, be sure to use them. 2. If you have large carrots, cut them in half crosswise and into four pieces lengthwise. 3. Season the cooked, boiled, and separated carrots with salt and pepper to taste. 4. Slice the prosciutto into thin strips, although prosciutto is most often sold already sliced. Pan-fry it in vegetable oil on both sides. 5. While the prosciutto is still hot, wrap it around the carrots. Place it so it does not unwind. When the prosciutto cools, it will hold in place on its own. 6. Season the dish on top with pepper and salt. Arrange on a pretty plate and serve at the table. Tasty and simple. This New Year’s carrot appetizer looks very interesting and unusual. All your guests will love it. It is perfect for the New Year’s table. Serve with herbs and sauce.
