New Year's tree made of puff pastry
Description
Delicious pastry for the whole family. You can use store-bought puff pastry or make it yourself to create this little tree. I used ready-made chocolate spread as the filling between the layers, but you can also use poppy seeds, dried fruits, or cream. You can make several small trees or, as I did, one large one that will become a centerpiece and help create a festive atmosphere. Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

1. Divide the dough into 2 parts, roll out one part on a work surface lined with parchment paper, then transfer the parchment with the dough onto a baking sheet.
- 2
Step 2

2. Spread the chocolate paste onto the dough.
- 3
Step 3

3. I spread it not over the entire surface, but in the shape of a New Year's fir tree.
- 4
Step 4

4. Roll out the second piece of dough on the table, then lift it with the rolling pin and cover the pie with the second layer of dough.
- 5
Step 5

5. Using a sharp knife, cut the dough into a triangular shape, just as you spread the chocolate paste. Set aside the leftover dough, but do not discard it.
- 6
Step 6

6. Cut out the Christmas tree: cut a strip at the bottom, and make cuts every 2 centimeters along the edges; at the top (the tip), leave a small uncut portion.
- 7
Step 7

7. I twist each strip of dough twice to create branches. The short strips on top are twisted once.
- 8
Step 8

9. From the remaining dough, I make a star to decorate the tree and place it on top.
- 9
Step 9

10. I crack an egg into a bowl and use a brush to coat the entire surface of the Christmas tree shape. Then I place it in a preheated oven at 180-190 degrees for 15-25 minutes.

Step 10

11. I take the ready-made Christmas tree out of the oven, let it cool slightly, then serve.
