New Year's Canapés with Salmon
Description
A tasty appetizer for any gathering. You can cure salmon slices in advance at home or buy them at a supermarket or store already lightly salted. For the base, choose croutons made from any type of bread, or small rusks and crackers. Melted or cream cheese will add juiciness and flavor to the appetizer—you may mix in chopped fresh herbs such as dill, parsley, and the like. Serve the appetizer at the table.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients. Put the processed cheese in a piping bag or syringe so you can pipe it attractively onto the croutons.
- 2
Step 2

Place the croutons or crackers on a plate or serving board. By the way, they’re easy to make at home from a baguette or slices of black or rye bread.
- 3
Step 3

Pipe melted or cream cheese onto croutons in star shapes, using a tip of your choice. If you mixed chopped herbs into the cheese, choose a tip with a wide opening.
- 4
Step 4

Roll the lightly salted salmon slices into small rosettes and place them on the melted cheese, securing them so they do not unfold.
- 5
Step 5

Tear off the edges of the lettuce leaf and garnish the prepared canapés with fresh herbs. You can do this using dill, parsley, or spinach.
- 6
Step 6

Serve the colorful salmon canapés for your New Year’s table immediately after preparation. Enjoy your meal!
