Cranberry New Year Cookies
Description
The pastry is simple and quick to prepare. I'll tell you more below. Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

In a deep bowl, add sugar and butter at room temperature. Beat with a mixer until fluffy.
- 3
Step 3

Pour in the milk. Mix until all ingredients are combined.
- 4
Step 4

Then add the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and a pinch of vanilla. Mix until smooth. The dough should be thick, but neither crumbly nor sticky. If it's too wet, add a little more flour; if too dry, add some milk.
- 5
Step 5

Add the almond flakes and dried cranberries. Mix until they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- 6
Step 6

Divide the dough into portioned balls using a tablespoon.
- 7
Step 7

Shape them into cookies and place them on a baking mat or parchment paper, spacing them apart—cookies expand significantly during baking. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 13–15 minutes until golden brown.
- 8
Step 8

Let the finished cookies cool on a wire rack. At first, they may seem soft and slightly underbaked, but they will become crisp after cooling.
- 9
Step 9

If desired, decorate the cookies with icing and turbinado sugar.
- 10
Step 10

Cranberry New Year's cookies are ready, enjoy your meal!
