New Year’s gingerbread cookies
Description
Nothing creates a New Year mood and a sense of celebration quite like homemade baking—especially New Year’s gingerbread cookies. Fancy gingerbread cookies make a beautiful decoration for the Christmas tree, and children are only too happy to “strip” that tree afterward—the cookies are delicious :) It all looks very pretty, festive, and cozy. So for the upcoming New Year holidays I recommend baking gingerbread cookies—fortunately the cost is very low (I calculated: ingredients for about 40 cookies come to roughly 150 rubles), and the preparation is quite simple. Good luck with your baking
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

In one bowl, mix flour, grated ginger, ground walnuts, melted butter, honey, sugar, and liqueur.
- 2
Step 2

Add the eggs and knead a pliable dough, from which we will later cut out our cookies.
- 3
Step 3

Roll out the dough into a thin layer and cut out shapes from it.
- 4
Step 4

Put the caramels in a cellophane bag and wrap it tightly.
- 5
Step 5

Using a rolling pin, crush the caramel candies—not into a fine crumb, of course, but fairly finely.
- 6
Step 6

Place the cut-out shapes on baking paper and put them in the oven. Bake for 10–15 minutes at 180°C.
- 7
Step 7

If you want to make cookies with caramel, first make small indentations in the shapes and insert pieces of caramel into them. Bake for the same 10–15 minutes at the same temperature again.
- 8
Step 8

You end up with something similar.
- 9
Step 9

You can decorate the finished cookies with a mixture of stiffly beaten egg white and powdered sugar.
- 10
Step 10

This is what the finished cookies look like.
- 11
Step 11

All that remains is to thread some string or ribbons through the holes you made beforehand, and hang the cookies on the Christmas tree. Done! :)
