Norwegian apple pie
Description
Tasty baked goods for the whole family. I wholeheartedly recommend baking a Norwegian apple pie this weekend, without putting it off “for later”. This pie will definitely delight the whole family; it is very beautiful and delicious. The hardest part is slicing the apples and waiting for it to bake. The bake is ready. Serve at the table.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

Chop the butter, beat the eggs into it, add 2 tbsp sugar, a pinch of salt.
- 3
Step 3

Add the flour, knead the dough; you can use a mixer on low speed.
- 4
Step 4

Let the dough “rest” for about 30 minutes; meanwhile, work on the filling.
- 5
Step 5

Peel the apples and remove the cores, pour water into the pan, and add 5 tablespoons of sugar.
- 6
Step 6

Add the 5 apples, cut into wedges and previously drizzled with 2 tablespoons of lemon juice. Add vanilla sugar, simmer for 15 minutes until the liquid evaporates.
- 7
Step 7

Place the dough in a removable pan (26‑27 cm diameter), previously lined with baking paper, smooth it out, and do not create a rim.
- 8
Step 8

Place the sautéed apples onto the dough.
- 9
Step 9

Slice the remaining five apples into thin slices and arrange them on top, trying to preserve their shape, and spread apricot jam over them. Bake for 1.5 hours at 190 degrees.
- 10
Step 10

Before removing the pie from the pan, run a knife or spatula along the edges until the apple filling has set.
- 11
Step 11

Transfer the pie onto a plate, serve it cooled to room temperature.
- 12
Step 12

The pie turned out delightful. The apple filling turned almost into marmalade, thanks to the high pectin content in the apples.
