
German Cinnamon Cake

1. Add warm melted butter, cinnamon, salt, and sugar to a medium bowl.

2. Mix the ingredients using rubber or silicone spatulas. Do not use a whisk, as shown in the photo!

3. Let the dough cool for 15 minutes until it resembles crumbs.

4. Preheat the oven to 160 degrees Celsius. Place the baking tray in the middle position. Spray a square baking pan with vegetable oil. You can moisten a paper towel with oil and use it to grease the pan. Then cut a rectangle from foil or parchment paper, fold it, and line the bottom of the pan with it, as shown in the picture.

5. In a large bowl, add sugar, flour, salt, and baking soda. Mix well.

6. While continuing to mix, gradually add the butter in 6 batches. Beat with a mixer at low speed.

7. Add vanilla, buttermilk, egg, and egg yolk. Beat with a mixer at high speed.

9. Pour the prepared batter into the pan over the foil and spread evenly.
