Description
The pastry is simple and quick to prepare. This is a traditional German cake recipe that is very popular in Germany. It's a great alternative to the usual apple pie. 1. To prepare the dough, blend 200 grams of softened margarine with 200 grams of sugar using a blender.

2. Add the eggs one at a time and mix thoroughly until a smooth, uniform mixture is obtained.

3. Wash the lemon thoroughly and grate the zest, add 1 spoon to the dough and continue mixing with a blender.

4. Sift the flour and mix it with baking powder and vanilla, add to the rest of the mixture and knead the dough. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and let it rest at room temperature.

5. Wash the apples, cut them in half, remove the cores, and peel. Grate them on a coarse grater.

6. Cut the lemon, from which the zest was previously removed, in half. Squeeze the juice from one half over the apples, add 0.5 teaspoon of zest and cinnamon. Place a frying pan over heat, transfer the filling to it, simmer for about 5-7 minutes, then let it cool.

7. To prepare the crumble, mix 180 g of margarine, 180 g of sugar, and 200 g of flour using a mixer. Line a baking tray with parchment paper, roll out the dough, place the filling on it, then top with the crumble mixture. Bake at 180°C for 40–45 minutes.
