German goulash
Description
The recipe won't take much time. You can use any meat for this goulash recipe; I'm using pork today. Goulash is quite simple to prepare, yet turns out very delicious! It's traditionally served on its own as a hot meat dish. Definitely worth making and trying. Serve hot.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

In a cauldron or any thick-bottomed pot, heat the oil. Add the meat cut into pieces and fry until a light golden crust forms.
- 3
Step 3

Then add the onion cut into thin strips and the bell pepper cut into small strips. Add salt and spices to taste.
- 4
Step 4

Stir occasionally and cook for 7-10 minutes.
- 5
Step 5

Add the wine, cover with a lid, and simmer over low heat for 30 minutes.
- 6
Step 6

Meanwhile, fry the potatoes cut into small cubes in a frying pan. There's no need to cook the potatoes completely—just fry until they develop a medium-density golden crust. This crust will prevent the potatoes from becoming mushy during further cooking.
- 7
Step 7

After 30 minutes, add the fried potatoes to the meat.
- 8
Step 8

Add water so that it completely covers the potatoes, season with salt, and simmer everything together for another 10-15 minutes. When the dish is ready, let it rest under the lid for about 10 more minutes.
- 9
Step 9

Then distribute the goulash onto plates and serve.
