German waffles
Description
Delicious pastries for the whole family. I want to share with you a recipe for German waffles. When my sister gave me an electric waffle maker, the first thing I did was try all the waffle recipes that were in the little booklet (it came in the set). And I liked this recipe the most. The waffles are very tasty and large. The cooking process takes only 15–20 minutes. Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the ingredients. You will also need a mixer and an electric waffle maker. Let’s begin!
- 2
Step 2

Place a piece of butter in a large bowl and microwave it for 20–30 seconds (or adjust the time according to your microwave) so the butter becomes soft. Add two egg yolks and sugar. Using a mixer, beat the mixture until smooth.
- 3
Step 3

In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff foam forms. Add them to the butter mixture. Mix with a mixer on low speed.
- 4
Step 4

Add 1.5 cups of flour, baking powder, cloves, and cinnamon. Mix the dough with a mixer on low speed. The cup volume is 200 ml.
- 5
Step 5

The dough is ready. It is soft and very aromatic.
- 6
Step 6

Preheat the electric waffle iron. There's no need to grease it if it has a non-stick coating. Place 2 heaping tablespoons of batter on each side. Close the lid.
- 7
Step 7

Cook the waffles for 2–3 minutes, depending on the setting (I cook the waffles on setting 4, and mine has 5 settings).
- 8
Step 8

This amount of batter makes 6 large waffles.
- 9
Step 9

Serve the waffles with fruit sauces, berries, fruits, and ice cream!
