German scallops with hazelnuts
Description
German-style pastries with plenty of nuts are like an energy bar — they perfectly energize the body, give strength, and will definitely keep you from feeling hungry afterward! These little pies are incredibly easy to make, as the recipe uses store-bought frozen dough (though you can, of course, prepare the dough from scratch if you prefer). These pastries are perfect to take on a trip, to work, or to pack in a child's school lunch — they make an excellent snack that satisfies hunger for a long time! Well then, I hope I've piqued your interest, so go ahead and read, save this recipe, and enjoy it either cooled down or slightly warm.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Slightly thaw the dough so it's easy to work with.
- 2
Step 2

Using a food processor, grind the hazelnuts together with the other nuts (I added walnuts and almonds to the hazelnuts). To this crumb mixture, add 1 egg, sugar, and cinnamon, then pour in 1 tablespoon of rum, which pairs perfectly with the nuts and creates a divine aroma.
- 3
Step 3

Mix the mixture well. The filling is ready!
- 4
Step 4

Roll out the dough and cut it into rectangles about 5-8 cm. Place 1 tablespoon of filling on one half.
- 5
Step 5

Cover the filling with the second half of the dough and firmly seal the edges. Then make cuts about 1 cm apart and stretch the dough to form a braid.
- 6
Step 6

Brush the tops of the patties with beaten egg. Place the patties on parchment paper and bake in the oven at 180 degrees for 25 minutes.
- 7
Step 7

Well, the scallops are already baked, they turned out very aromatic and appetizing.
- 8
Step 8

Brush the scallops on top with a white glaze (simply beat 1 egg white with 3 tablespoons of powdered sugar) and sprinkle with crushed leftover nuts.
- 9
Step 9

The scallops turned out incredibly delicious! Enjoy your meal!
