Description

Homemade baking for tea. If you want to diversify your usual morning meal, make German rolls for breakfast. The recipe is simple, and the rolls turn out very attractive in appearance. By the way, from this dough and using the same technique you can also make a German pretzel “Bretzel”. Cook with pleasure. Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.

    In the container for kneading the dough, add flour, salt, sugar, and yeast.

    Add butter to the boiling water so that it fully “melts”.

    Pour warm milk into the butter and water.

    Pour the water and oil mixture into the flour mass, knead the dough, and knead by hand for about 5 minutes. Then transfer the dough to a bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and place in a warm spot to rise for 45 minutes.

    Divide the dough into 8 equal parts and roll each into a ball.

    For the "Laugen brotchen" buns, roll the dough into a "sausage" shape, about 1–1.5 cm thick.

    Wrap the bun from the “sausage” by folding it over your palm; the shape can be any, and secure the ends. You can also simply leave the bun in the shape of a ball.

    For another type of rolls “Laugen stangen,” roll the dough into a flat disc, roll it into a small roll, pinch the seam, and place the prepared piece onto it.

    Place all the buns on a baking sheet, brush them with vegetable oil, and let them “rise” for 20 minutes.

    Bring 1.5 liters of water to a boil, add baking soda and salt, dip the buns into this boiling solution for a second, remove them with a slotted spoon, and place them back onto a baking sheet.

    Before baking the rolls, you can sprinkle them with pumpkin seeds and coarse sea salt; on the "Laugen stangen" rolls, make small cuts.
