The Tastiest Valentine's Day Cake
Description
The recipe won't take much time. A romantic evening is about more than just exciting hot dishes—how about dessert? I suggest this recipe. It can be served with tea or coffee.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

First, prepare the dough for the layers. To do this, mix three eggs with 300 grams of sugar and sour cream, add 3 teaspoons of baking soda, and beat the mixture thoroughly with a mixer.
- 2
Step 2

Carefully pour in 300 grams of flour with a spoonful of starch, and thoroughly knead the dough with a spatula.
- 3
Step 3

Divide the resulting dough into three equal parts, and add 50 grams of poppy seeds to the first part.
- 4
Step 4

In the second — 100 grams of raisins.
- 5
Step 5

In the third — 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and 100 grams of chopped walnuts.
- 6
Step 6

Each cake layer should be baked separately. Bake them in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 20 minutes.
- 7
Step 7

While the cake layers are baking, prepare the custard cream. To do this, mix two chicken eggs, one cup of sugar, and three tablespoons of cornstarch in a saucepan.
- 8
Step 8

Pour the milk into the resulting mixture in a thin stream, while simultaneously beating the cream with a mixer.
- 9
Step 9

Place the almost-ready cream over low heat, bring it to a boil, then let it cool slightly, add 200 grams of butter, and beat again with a mixer.
- 10
Step 10

Place the finished cream in a cold place for several hours.
- 11
Step 11

After all three cake layers are baked, trim off the hard edges and proceed to assemble the cake. Each layer should be generously coated with cream.
- 12
Step 12

The top of the cake should also be coated with the remaining custard cream and decorated as desired. I decorated my cake with biscuit crumbs made by crushing leftover cake pieces. I also cut out a love confession from them.
- 13
Step 13

The finished cake should be chilled in the refrigerator. It's best to prepare it the night before, then in the morning it will simply melt in your mouth!
