Crumb apple pie without semolina
Description
In preparation I use a 20 cm silicone baking mould, and I do not grease it or line the bottom with parchment. For the filling, it is best to choose tart-sweet apple varieties.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all ingredients right away. The butter should be well chilled.
- 2
Step 2

To prepare the flour crumble, pour the flour into the blender bowl, add 60 grams of sugar and 120 grams of cold butter, cut into pieces for convenience.
- 3
Step 3

Run the blender for 30–40 seconds. You should end up with fine, uniform crumbs in the bowl — this will be the shortcrust base for the pie.
- 4
Step 4

Peel the apples, remove the core, and cut the flesh into small pieces.
- 5
Step 5

Place the apples in a saucepan, add 60 grams of sugar and 30 grams of butter.
- 6
Step 6

Simmer the apples over low heat until the sugar dissolves, but do not let the apple pieces cook down completely.
- 7
Step 7

Spread half of the flour crumbs on the bottom of the baking pan and level them with a spoon into an even layer.
- 8
Step 8

Spread the apple mixture from the saucepan on top in an even layer as well.
- 9
Step 9

Then spread the remaining flour crumb mixture in a layer. Bake the pie in a preheated 180°C oven for 35–40 minutes.
- 10
Step 10

Cool the finished pie completely before you slice it.
- 11
Step 11

Remove from the oven and serve warm or cooled.
