Description

Delicious baked treat for the whole family. Once you learn how to make the dough, you can start baking strudels with various fillings—both savory and sweet. This dish will surely become your favorite. The main thing is to take the risk and try baking a strudel for the first time. Serve with tea or coffee.

    1. Sift the flour into the bowl of a food processor 2-3 times, add half a teaspoon of salt and 1 egg, then start kneading the dough. Gradually, in a thin stream, add room-temperature water a little at a time, along with 2 tablespoons of oil. Knead the dough for 10–12 minutes until it no longer sticks to your hands. Shape the dough into a ball, place it into a pot, cover, and let it rest for an hour.

    2. If kneading by hand: add salt and egg to the flour, mix well. Add water and oil. Turn the resulting dough onto a floured surface, lightly dust with flour, and knead for about 20 minutes until smooth and tender. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and let it rest for an hour.

    3. Cut a large lemon in half and squeeze the juice from it. Cut the apples into 4 parts, remove the core, and slice the fruit thinly. Combine the apples with the lemon juice.

    4. To roll out the dough, place a towel on the table and generously sprinkle it with flour. Slightly roll the dough into a circle, divide it into 2 parts, and then roll each part in turn with a rolling pin into a rectangular shape.

    5. When the dough is rolled out so thinly that the towel's pattern shows through, start stretching it by hand in a circular motion. Stretch it as much as possible. Place the dough on the table and stretch the edges.
