Authentic pilaf
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. It's very easy to cook authentic plov at home. It's important that you have a kazan (cauldron) with a thick bottom. For plov, you should choose juicy meat—beef, pork, veal, or lamb. However, I prefer beef. Cooking authentic plov is very easy. A step-by-step photo recipe will show you how to do it in 1.5 hours. The finished dish can be served at the table.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

First, we grind the cumin in a mortar.
- 2
Step 2

Then we take our piece of meat, rinse it, dry it with a paper towel, and cut it into small pieces (they should not be too small).
- 3
Step 3

Pour plenty of oil into a cauldron and sear the meat over high heat until golden brown. It's important not to overcook the pieces.
- 4
Step 4

Then add the onion cut into half-rings.
- 5
Step 5

Fry for about 10-15 minutes, until the onion turns a beautiful brown color.
- 6
Step 6

Then add the carrot grated on a medium grater and sauté.
- 7
Step 7

Then add as much water as needed to completely cover the contents of the cauldron. Then add garlic, salt, pepper, and cumin.
- 8
Step 8

Stir occasionally and simmer the dish for about 30 minutes.
- 9
Step 9

Then add the rice and pour in water to cover the rice by 1 cm. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to the lowest setting, cover with a lid, and simmer for 45 minutes without stirring!
- 10
Step 10

After 45 minutes, turn off the heat completely and let the dish sit, covered, for another 15 minutes. Then the real plov is ready! :)
