Authentic pizza
Description
The pastry is simple and quick to prepare. It's absolutely delicious and a feast for the eyes, not pizza at all. I can't put into words how good it is. If you're a dedicated meat lover, I think you could add pieces of high-quality ham or a bit of bacon to the filling. The pastry is ready. Serve it at the table.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

For the dough, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Separately, sift flour with salt, add a spoon of butter and the yeast mixture, then mix everything together.
- 2
Step 2

Now knead the dough on a floured surface and return it to the bowl; let it rest for one and a half to two hours.
- 3
Step 3

Now, in a saucepan, combine the balsamic vinegar and syrup and simmer for about 15–20 minutes, until only about a quarter of the original liquid volume remains.
- 4
Step 4

Cut the onion into quarter-rings and place in a dry frying pan. Cook until browned. Then pour in 30 ml of water, evaporate the liquid, add a little oil and salt. Cook for 5 minutes. The onion should turn a beautiful brown color.

Step 5

Roll out the dough on a floured surface, prick with a fork, and brush with butter.

Step 6

Wash the figs and slice them into wedges, spread the onion over the dough, crumble the cheese, then place the figs on top. Transfer the pizza to a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees until it turns a rich golden color.

Step 7

When serving, place the arugula on top and drizzle everything with balsamic dressing.
