
Napoleon cake with condensed milk
Description
Delicious baked treat for the whole family. When puff pastry wasn't yet available in stores, my grandmother used to bake this "Napoleon" cake. A tasty cake with everyone's favorite condensed milk cream—once you've made this for a holiday, there was nothing else left to prepare :) Don't be lazy—bake this cake according to the recipe and taste the difference between store-bought and homemade. I'm sure your loved ones will keep asking you to make this cake again and again! Serve it cooled or slightly warm.

Sift the flour into a bowl. Start with 2 cups, then add more if needed.

Add the cold butter, grated on a grater, to the flour

Mix the butter with the flour.

Now make a depression in the flour, crack the egg into it, and add a pinch of salt.

Pour in the cognac or vodka.

And we pour in the water.

Knead a soft dough. It should not stick to your hands, so add flour if necessary. Then wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 3 hours.

Divide the dough into 10-12 pieces. Roll out each piece very thinly.

Cut out crusts of the desired size from the dough and place them onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Use a rolling pin to transfer the dough, otherwise it will stretch and tear. Prick the dough thoroughly with a fork. Bake the leftover scraps separately; they will be used as crumbs for the cake.

Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees until golden brown.

Now let's proceed to preparing the cream. Place soft butter into a bowl, add condensed milk to it. You can also add a spoonful of brandy to the cream.

And beat with a mixer until a smooth, fluffy cream forms.

Spread the layers with cream and assemble the cake.

Be sure to spread the cream on the sides of the cake.

Crush the baked trimmings and sprinkle the crumbs over the top and sides of the cake. Decorate the top with grated or melted chocolate, if desired. Place the cake in the refrigerator and let it chill for 5–6 hours to soak.
