Strawberry liqueur
Description
The recipe won't take much time. To make this liqueur, you only need strawberries and sugar, as citrus zest and vanilla are optional. The result is a wonderful light drink—having a couple of small glasses won't harm anyone :) Traditionally, strawberry liqueur is considered a women's drink, but men enjoy it too ;) How to make strawberry liqueur: 1. Wash the strawberries thoroughly—ideally, each berry separately under running water. Trim off any bruised or spoiled spots, if present, and remove the green caps. 2. Place the berries into a 3-liter jar, add zest and vanilla (if using), then cover with sugar. 3. Cover the jar's opening with gauze and secure it with a rubber band or string. 4. Leave the jar in a warm place for 2–4 days, until fermentation starts. 5. As soon as fermentation begins, remove the gauze and attach an airlock—this can be made at home using a plastic lid and a small tube. 6. Move the jar to a dark place for 2–3 weeks, until fermentation completely stops. 7. Strain the finished liqueur through several layers of gauze, then pour into clean bottles and seal with corks or lids. 8. Store the bottles in a dark, cool place—such as a cellar or pantry. Done! :)
