
Black Currant Liqueur

Blackcurrant liqueur made at home should be present at any festive table. This drink is popular and is one of the favorites in many households.

1. To make black currant liqueur at home, use fresh berries. As is well known, black currant has long been an excellent remedy, as it is a treasure trove of vitamins.

2. If fresh fruits are unavailable, use frozen ones. Also, prepare vodka or purified moonshine.

3. Take the prepared berries and mash them well. Place the resulting pulp into a bottle and pour in vodka. Add a little sugar and lemon zest—this will make the taste of the liqueur more piquant.

4. Rinse the container in which you crushed the berries with vodka as well, then transfer the mixture into a bottle. Let the liqueur sit in a dark place for about 5 days—only after this period can it be consumed. It is better if the liqueur is left to stand longer (about 20 days).
